The next step after the Level 6 Program is the Level 5. The Level 6 is our biggest program, this level is for students who understand the rules and movements but have little or no formal coaching on chess theory, tactics, and strategy. The goal of the Pawn Level is to instill a strong chess foundation into these bright new chess players. Players stay in the level for about 3-9 months before promoting to Knight.

Coach Chris

Coach Chris has over 20 years of tournament experience, 10+ years coaching experience holds the title of National Master. A positional approach and experience have allowed Chris to compete with nations strongest players. Christopher has an extensive chess record. He was 2015 US Open Top Master, a UT Dallas Team Member from 2004-2008, In 2003 he was on the National High School Championship Team, was the 2001 Pan-Am Scholastic Champion, and served as the Dallas Destiny Manager/Player from 2015-2019.

It was defined and named after him as "Iyengar Yoga" and included as an entry in the Oxford Dictionary. On the basis of traditional Hatha Yoga, he combined the modern science of human physiological anatomy. By emphasizing the precision of posture movements, he achieved harmony between the body's physiological consciousness and skeletal muscles. Thereby, the physical therapy effect of treatment, correction and recovery can be produced on the body. The teacher training and certification system of Iyengar Yoga is one of the most rigorous, respected and accepted yoga systems in the world.

Carmen

I started practicing yoga in 2005. In 2010, I founded the first Iyengar Yoga Center in China-Guangzhou Iyengar Yoga, which was authorised by Iyengar by Master Iyengar, with Ms. Riana and Tao Peiqi, one of the top ten disciples of Master Iyengar in the world. Center, the center has successively established training academies and Shanghai Jianya Yoga Studio in Wuxi. From 2011 to 2016, I completed the Iyengar Yoga International Certified Teacher's course with teacher Riana. *Teached at the Iyengar Yoga Guangzhou Center, participated in many national yoga conferences, the center's national open classes and international teachers' open classes as assistant teachers. *At the same time, he is also one of the intensive training assistant teachers team of Iyengar Yoga Guangzhou Center. * Served as an expatriate and enterprise special teacher for many enterprises, and accumulated rich teaching experience in enterprise special courses.

As the semester progresses, classes will shift focus toward students developing full songs of their own. Gradually, more time will be spent composing than discussion or specific exercises. The last few classes of the semester will be fully dedicated to student composition and production, where they will create their final pieces of music on the course. These pieces will be combined into a class album, which will then be put up on Soundcloud.

Harold Wu

Harold Wu is a high school junior. He's been playing piano for over 10 years and has been studying piano with Prof. Logan Skelton, Director of Doctoral Studies in Piano Performance at the University of Michigan, since 9th Grade. His digital composition “Exploration“ won 1st place in the 2019 International Youth Art and Technology Competition. In summer 2020, he completed a 6-credit course “Mixing and Mastering for the Electronic Musician” & “Producing Music with Logic” at Berklee College of Music. In summer 2021, he got accepted into the Music Technology Pre-college program at the Carnegie Mellon University.

We will cover the following topics: basics of video production, lighting, sound recording, editing, YouTube basics, the Top 10 Things Every New Youtuber Needs to Know (#4 is CRUCIAL), how to make catchy titles and thumbnails, keyword optimization, advanced algorithm tricks, trend-jacking, incentive techniques, reward spikes, promise payoffs, and more!
As we go, I will create a YouTube channel from scratch, applying the techniques we talk about. The students will follow along with me, applying the same techniques to their own channels.

Rachel Murphy

Rachel teaches media, technology, and filmmaking. She brings not only an incredible amount of media and technology expertise to the classroom, but an exciting, upbeat teaching style and a glowing positive personality. She's passionate about instilling a sense of adventure and exploration into learning, and believes that if students' curiosity is cultivated, they will seek out learning on their own. Rachel has a BA in Cinema and Media Studies from UCLA. After graduating college, she worked as an editor in Hollywood for 3 years before realizing that her passion was in teaching. She now has over 8 years of teaching experience, both in-person and online. She has taught for two different charter schools in the pacific northwest, where she now lives with her family.
